HGV Mechanic/Technician

Econ Engineering Ltd are the UK’s leading manufacturer of winter and multi purpose equipment for the highway maintenance sector and are currently looking to recruit for the role of HGV Mechanic/Technician for our new depot in Alloa, Sterling.

The successful candidate will be experienced in working with all major makes of Chassis (particular previous experience with DAF and/or Mercedes would be an advantage but not essential)

Mainly work shop based, working over a pit – the candidate would be an integral part of a small team servicing and maintaining a gritter fleet.

The candidate must be a team player but able to work on their own initiative.

Role would include:

- Carry out preventative maintenance and routine scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
- Occasionally attend vehicle/breakdowns at various locations and carry out repairs to ensure minimum down time
- Trouble shoot and fault find any defects on machines and carry out repairs as necessary

Based at our Alloa Depot, working Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am to 4pm, with 1 hour lunch break each day. Additional hours in Winter months may be required, including occasional Saturday mornings, so some flexibility is required.

Training and back up will be given, and a HGV licence is a distinct advantage. A competitive salary, plus bonus, overtime and pension will be paid.
